You're Magical With Lawn Fawn ......

Hello everyone!! Happy, happy, Monday!
Can you believe April is already over!
This month really went by fast!

I hope you had a great month, I have been enjoying trying out
new watercolors. I also purchased a couple Faber Castell Polychromos pencils.
I have colored with them a bit, but haven't used them to create a project with.

For today, I created a 3D card for the Lawn Fawnatics challenge.
I used the Lawn Fawn Shadow Box die to create my card. It is such an awesome
die, it makes creating these super quick and fun!

I went with a fairy scene using the Fairy Friends stamp set.
I adore this set so much, it is one of my all-time favorites.

I used Distress Oxide ink in Wilted Violet and Distress Ink in Shaded Lilac to add color to the background.

For the grass hills, I used Distress Ink in Mowed Lawn.

To color the purple areas, I used my Copic markers.
I used V25, 22, 20. I then added a bit of V17, V15, and repeated the beginning colors again.
To darken the purple a bit more I added V09 and V15 along with V22.

For the green areas, I used G99,94, YG17, YG13, and YG00.

Once I finished coloring the images in, I assembled the card.

The sentiment is from the Pizza My Heart and Costume Party stamp sets.

I hope you enjoy the card I created to share with you today and feel inspired to create!
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by!
Wishing you a wonderful and Blessed day!!

Daniel Smith or Prima Watercolors ?

Hello and happy Thursday everyone!!
I am stopping by to share a couple of
watercolored cards I created. In between my Copic
coloring, I have been practicing and trying out new
watercolors.

Do you have a favorite brand of watercolors?
I am going deeper into the wonderful world of watercolor, the talent is AMAZING.
I have been curious to expand my collection.
I have been hearing wonderful things about Daniel Smith
and Prima watercolors. I usually use Winsor&Newton or Kuretake Real Brush Pens.
I do love those brand. I am just curious to try new brands and see how they work.

I am also catching up on creating birthday cards. The cake image from
the Concord & 9th Happy Day stamp set was perfect for the theme and to practice with
the new watercolors.

This is the card I colored using Daniel Smith colors.
I should have written down the colors I used as I was using them ( I apologize if I forget any, I will remember to write them as I go next time).

I tried to use the similar colors.
For the Daniel Smith colors I know I used Deep Scarlet, Permanent Brown
(these are now two of my FAVE colors) and Indigo along with Payne's Blue Gray
for the flowers.

This is the prima watercolored one. I used the Decadent Pies, Tropicals, and Classics sets.
For the flowers, I used from the Decadent Pies Guava Meringue, Apple, Pecan, and Blackberry.

I am very impressed with both brands.
I can't pick a favorite.
I love the colors, how they blend, the different look of each one.

I am hoping to color another of these images using Winsor&Newton colors, I need a couple more to match this color theme. Once I have those I will color the image and share all three cards side by side.

For the Daniel Smith colors, they are an investment. I asked the super talented Rubeena from a Rare Ruby's craft blog what watercolors she used and recommends. She suggested the dot chart, and it is absolutely worth it! I was happy to find these and the dot chart at a local art store( LOVE it). Now I have a wishlist.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by!
Wishing you a wonderful and Blessed day!!

Hello Bluebird Elephant Friends....

Happy Wednesday!!
I am stopping by today to share a set of cards I created using the
cutest stamps from a brand new to me company Hello Bluebird.

From the moment I saw the images I knew they would be super
fun to color and create with.

For my cards, I used the Elephant Friends, Sprig Script, and Gallery Frame Dies.

I began by creating the day and night scenes that would be the background.
I used Distress Inks in the colors Twisted Citron, Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire. I also used
Broken China Distress Oxide ink. I added a bit of Memento Danube Blue to the nighttime scene as well.

I then colored the super cute elephants.
I used mostly the same colors for both scenes.
For the night scene, I made the elephants a bit darker.

I used Copic markers in the colors C7, C5, W5, W3, C1, and C0. For the ears and cheeks, I used
E93 and R000.

For the bunnies and duckies, I did the same thing I added a bit more of the darker colors to the night scene ones.

I used E50,51, 31, 35, 55, 37 and 47 for the bunnies.
For the ducklings, I used E50, YR23, Y19, and YR21.

These were lots of fun to color!
I hope you enjoy and feel inspired to create!
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by!
Wishing you a wonderful and Blessed day!

Celebrate This Special Day with Altenew...

Hello everyone!!
Happy Tuesday!
I am so happy to be stopping by to share this card I created.
I have always loved watercolor, especially watercolored
flowers! They are absolutely beautiful!
I enjoy practicing and know I have a lot to learn and
believe me I admire the beauty the watercolor artists create.
With that in mind, I pulled my Winsor&Newton  watercolors out and decided to practice with
the beautiful flowers from Altenews Magnolias For Her stamp set.

I began by stamping my image onto Arches 140LB Cold Pressed watercolor paper.
I used Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I then began to watercolor using my Winsor &Newton colors.
It is such a relaxing process, it does take time( for me it does, lol).

I hope you enjoy and feel inspired to create!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by!
